March 2026 - Protecting Your Mental Health

By Anita Starks | Get2ten Wellness

Employee loyalty should be at the top of every employer’s priority list and integrated into the core of your business strategy. In today’s workplace, loyalty is no longer built solely on pay and benefits—it is built on how employees feel. When organizations protect mental health, remove unnecessary stress, and create supportive environments, loyalty follows naturally.

At Get2ten Wellness, we believe a healthy workforce is a loyal workforce. When employees feel supported emotionally, mentally, and professionally, they are more engaged, more productive, and more committed to the organization’s mission.

Simplify the Work Experience

Leaders who gain loyalty do so by removing barriers for everyone else. Their role is not to create pressure, but to create clarity. Simplifying processes, reducing unnecessary stress, and making expectations clear helps employees perform at their best without burnout.

Ask yourself:

  • Are we overloading our team?
  • Are systems efficient or frustrating?
  • Are expectations realistic and clear?

When employees see leadership actively working to make their jobs easier and more manageable, they feel valued—and loyalty grows. A simplified workplace supports mental wellness and reduces anxiety, confusion, and fatigue.

Open Lines of Communication

Many leaders focus heavily on customers and the bottom line. While those are important, organizations thrive when leaders also focus on their people. Employees who feel heard and supported are more likely to stay engaged and provide exceptional service.

Create regular check-ins. Encourage honest conversations. Make space for feedback without fear.
When employees feel psychologically safe to speak, they are more likely to share concerns early—before burnout, disengagement, or turnover occurs.

Strong communication builds trust. Trust builds loyalty. Loyalty builds strong organizations.

Evaluate and Support

It’s true that some individuals naturally demonstrate strong commitment and work ethic. However, modern leadership recognizes that loyalty is also influenced by environment. When employees feel respected, supported, and mentally well, they are far more likely to remain loyal and invested.

Instead of asking only, “Are employees loyal?” also ask:

  • Are we creating a workplace worth being loyal to?
  • Are we supporting employee mental health?
  • Are we addressing stress before it becomes burnout?

Evaluation today means assessing both performance and well-being. It also means hiring individuals who value teamwork, communication, and purpose—while providing the support systems that help them thrive.

The Get2ten Wellness Approach

At Get2ten Wellness, we encourage organizations to view mental health as a strategic advantage, not an afterthought. Protecting employee mental health leads to:

  • Higher retention
  • Stronger morale
  • Better teamwork
  • Improved productivity
  • Increased loyalty

When employees feel seen, heard, and supported, they naturally give more to the organization. They stay longer. They serve better. They grow with you.

Employee loyalty is not just a personality trait—it is often the result of intentional leadership, supportive culture, and mental wellness practices built into daily operations.

A workplace that protects mental health becomes a workplace people don’t want to leave.
